Colours of the Country- celebrating ten years of the Alice Springs Beanie Festival

The Alice Springs Beanie Festival is pleased to announce that a travelling exhibition, 'Colours of the Country' has been developed in partnership with Artback. The exhibition is currently on tour in Australia and will also be heading to New Zealand. The beanies- largely comprising our collection- have been selected to show the development of the beanie within our festival from the practical and fun through to the works of artistic merit. Many techniques have been used to make these pieces including crochet, knitting, felting, sewing and beading.
Look out for the beanies from the Pitjantjatjara/ Anangu lands around Alice Springs.

Many thanks to Artback for their assistance in touring this collection.

Please support our show and get along to any venues near you and take your friends, your Nana and any one else you can find.

Beanie festival tshirts, books and Aboriginal beanies are for sale as merchandise at the galleries.
